Best and Worst Hotels For WiFi

[Face-to-Face] The best hotels offer free WiFi in the lobbies and many of the properties also offer free WiFi in the guests rooms as well. The worst WiFi hotels are charging for WiFi either in the guest rooms or the lobbies. We can't rip on the worst hotels too much though, because at least they are offering WiFi access. There are some hotels that have yet to jump on the WiFi bandwagon and they really deserve to be called the worst.

The official conference hotels were the DoubleTree, two light-rail stops away, and the Hilton, several more stops away toward downtown Portland. Both considerably more expensive than the Red Lion. OK, the amenities were clearly fewer and lower quality at the RL, but the WiFi was free, as opposed to the $10 a day at the DoubleTree.

[Totally The Best Thing Ever.] Best Convergence Phone.: actually it would be totally 100% inconvenient. maybe if they made a build-to-order option to replace the built-in GPS radio with a built-in wi-fi radio it would be better... as a GPS card would be more a special use card i wouldn't mind having to side-slot and plugged in only sometimes.

The Jeff Pulver Blog: No Wi-Fi, No Broadband, No Jeff!: The idea of surfing and working by the elevator seems to give me the impression I was getting the shaft from the hotel management who told me they used to have wired high speed in the rooms but the WiFi company removed those connections as part of the Wireless project.
