Glasgow Goes Wireless

[WNN Europe] BT Openzone has built six hotspots in Glasgow’s city center: The hotspots cover the main shopping and business areas. The goal is to allow city workers to use the network.

[Dailywireless.org] Daily Wireless - Wayport Claims Hotspot Leadership: T-Mobile announced its first foray into the UK's airports in May 2004, rolling out access points at Heathrow, Gatwick and Glasgow. T-Mobile's UK coverage also includes some 600 hotspots at most Starbucks, many Texaco gas stations, Borders bookstores and Sheraton hotels.
[Europe.wifinetnews.com] WNN Europe: A recent study shows that the UK has 34 percent of hotspots in Europe and that the price of access to hotspots is dropping: The study showed that the price of weekly subscriptions has dropped quite a bit this year and that just 10 per cent of access is paid for by regular contract. It’s good news that prices are falling but they’ll need to fall more if hotspot operators are to attract more users.
